Trees
Trees came together in mid 2009 when Mark Florence and Jonathan Beverly met in the local Chicago music scene. Through a variety of bands they developed a deep musical chemistry which eventually came to fruition in the form of Trees. Trees is an amalgamation of both of their musical backgrounds ranging from funk and blues to electronica and psychedelia. The result is a musical playground which reaches much further than any single genre.
Trees takes an improvisational approach to performing electronic music, bringing a fresh arrangement to the songs each time they take the stage. They also remix a variety of popular music from past and present, folding familiar samples into their own unique mix of music. Mark Florence plays guitar, bass and keyboards while manipulating samples and live looping. Jonathan Beverly provides live drums and percussion.
